Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation for Dysphagia D300
Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation for Dysphagia D300
Intended Use
For the adjuvant treatment of dysphagia caused by neuromuscular injury.
Mechanism
Neuromuscular electrical stimulation therapy is used to treat dysphagia, which can effectively re-educate muscles. The smaller current is precisely calibrated, and the specially designed electrode pads placed on the neck are more conducive to the conduction and action of the current. When patients perform swallowing training, the electric current can effectively stimulate the motor nerves in the larynx to cause the contraction of the swallowing muscles. Electrical current can also be applied to sensory stimulation to promote cortical reorganization. With repeated treatment and re-education of the muscles, swallowing function can be effectively improved.
Clinical Application
Common oral and throat muscle control or coordination problems prevent normal swallowing. Swallowing disorders can affect food intake and nutrient absorption, and can also cause food to be accidentally inhaled into the trachea, causing aspiration pneumonia, which can be life-threatening in severe cases.
The product is suitable for physical therapy of dysphagia caused by non-mechanical damage to the pharynx. Used for muscle retraining and functional stimulation of the laryngeal muscles to achieve normal contraction of the pharyngeal muscles. Helps speech disorder therapists train most of their patients and restore swallowing function.
