Opinion Discussion | Application of Cellgene™ Care Arterial Hemostatic Materials
Chitosan hemostatic sponge is one of the actively recommended hemostatic materials in the US TCCC guidelines. Compared to other chitosan hemostatic sponges, Cellgene™ Care arterial hemostatic chitosan sponge has various characteristics such as efficient and rapid blood clotting, unaffected by self-coagulation disorders and coagulation drugs, antimicrobial and anti-infection properties, promoting wound healing, high safety, blood concentration, fluid absorption, not easily broken, not sticking to wounds making it easy to peel off, strong flexibility to fit various wound shapes, diverse specifications and sizes, and can be used to fill wounds.
For minor non-arterial bleeding with surface damage: Cellgene™ Care Arterial Hemostatic Patch comes in various sizes, applied to the wound surface, pressed for 2-3 minutes, and then bandaged for effective bleeding control.
For high-pressure and high-flow bleeding from severed limbs or arterial vessel rupture, Cellgene™ Care Arterial Hemostatic Patch can be used with a tourniquet. Apply pressure with the tourniquet near the heart end to slow down bleeding, then apply the Cellgene™ Care Arterial Hemostatic Patch on the wound, press for 3-5 minutes, and bandage for effective bleeding control. For arterial or venous rupture bleeding, apply the Cellgene™ Care Arterial Hemostatic Patch on the wound, press for 2-5 minutes to control bleeding, then bandage for fixation.
For bleeding from limb detachment or arterial vessel rupture, Cellgene™ Care Arterial Hemostatic Patch can be used with a junctional tourniquet. Apply pressure with the tourniquet to slow down bleeding, then apply the Cellgene™ Care Arterial Hemostatic Patch on the wound, press for 3-5 minutes, and bandage for effective bleeding control. Alternatively, apply the Cellgene™ Care Arterial Hemostatic Patch on the wound and secure the junctional tourniquet directly on top for better hemostatic effects.
For arterial or venous rupture, apply the Cellgene™ Care Arterial Hemostatic Patch on the wound, press for 2-5 minutes to control bleeding, then bandage for fixation.
For high-flow bleeding from penetrating or deep wounds, Cellgene™ Care Arterial Hemostatic Patch offers Sailor Series hemostatic instruments (cut the hemostatic sponge into 0.8cm diameter circles, and insert into a specialized injector to expand after absorbing body fluid). Inject the hemostatic sponge internally, apply the Cellgene™ Care Arterial Hemostatic Patch on the wound surface, press for 3-5 minutes, then bandage for bleeding control.
For trunk bleeding: in cases of high-flow bleeding from penetrating or deep wounds, Cellgene™ Care Arterial Hemostatic Patch offers various types such as rolls, folds, and injectors for packing or internal injection to stop bleeding. Apply the Cellgene™ Care Arterial Hemostatic Patch on the wound surface, press for 3-5 minutes, then bandage for bleeding control.
The structure of Cellgene™ Care Arterial Hemostatic Patch remains stable even when soaked in blood, does not break or disintegrate, and does not enter blood vessels with blood and body fluids. The compressed sponge structure expands internally and provides hemostatic effects. The chitosan sponge structure absorbs and prevents the flow of body fluids.
In the rescue under fire stage: Cellgene™ Care Arterial Hemostatic Patch is packaged in portable aluminum foil, designed for emergencies with an 8-angle tear-open packaging. Utilizing a global exclusive sponge compression technology, the product is only 0.2mm thick with packaging, making it easy to carry in small spaces with high doses. The product can be stored at room temperature without being affected by external factors like wind, rain, temperature, light, or weather. The material is soft and flexible, suitable for treating multiple injuries. Simple operation with three steps of applying, pressing, and securing for quick and effective bleeding control.
In the area tactical rescue stage: for bleeding control initially managed by pressure bandaging, it can be switched to Cellgene™ Care Arterial Hemostatic Patch application. Adjust pressure after applying the patch to prevent tissue necrosis due to prolonged blood supply blockage, avoiding secondary irreversible damage caused by poor blood flow leading to vascular occlusion.
In the post-tactical rescue stage: Cellgene™ Care Arterial Hemostatic Patch has high biocompatibility, and no risk of allergies, tissue damage, or infection. The stable freeze-drying cross-linking technology allows the patch to remain intact even after being soaked with body fluids, ensuring easy removal without leaving residue. The material is 100% biological sponge, and does not adhere to wounds, facilitating thorough wound cleaning for healthcare professionals dealing with injuries.
Cellgene™ Care
Cellgene™Care Arterial Hemostatic Patch is a novel high-molecular-weight material for arterial hemostasis, prepared using an innovative freeze-drying cross-linking technology. It is suitable for external arterial bleeding wounds, interventional puncture sites, and catheter wound hemostasis.

Interventional Radiology: CAG+PCT, lower limb angiography, lower limb thrombolysis intervention, balloon angioplasty, and other interventions mainly through the femoral artery.
Oncology Department: Chemoembolization, chemotherapy infusion, selective arterial infusion chemotherapy, hepatic artery infusion/chemoembolization, and other interventions mainly through the femoral artery.
Respiratory Department: Bronchial artery embolization, bronchial artery infusion chemotherapy, precise pulmonary artery thrombectomy, pulmonary artery angiography, and other interventions mainly through the femoral artery.
1. Innovative freeze-dried cross-linking technology - making it the only sponge in the country that can still be compressed after freeze-drying, with a clotting rate of over 90% after freeze-drying.
2. Mesh structure - providing stable product performance and over 30 times its weight in liquid absorption capacity.
3. Unique hemostatic mechanism - the material's surface with a positive charge adsorbs red blood cells and platelets with negative charges, allowing the material to absorb liquid without adsorbing red blood cells.
4. Unique cross-linking agent - giving the product excellent physical tensile strength and wet stability, ensuring it remains intact and does not dissolve when encountering body fluids or blood, meeting clinical arterial hemostasis requirements.
1. Reduce postoperative hemostasis time---reduce compression time, and improve operating room utilization.
2. Reduce postoperative immobilization time---reduce the incidence of postoperative complications.
3. Reduce bandaging pressure---reduce nursing workload, while alleviating patient pain and improving patient compliance.
4. Biological hemostatic material---no drug infiltration, safer hemostasis; simple to use, higher cost-effectiveness.
